Frequently Asked Questions

The FAQ will be updated on an ongoing basis as questions are submitted that are not addressed elsewhere. (Last Updated: July 24, 2023)

Applicant Eligibility:

I do not have non-profit status. Am I still eligible to apply?

Organizations with nonprofit status will be prioritized, though other entities will be considered as long as the proposed project has a charitable purpose, as defined by the U.S. internal revenue service: https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/charitable-purposes

There will be several people/organizations working on the project. Can we apply as a group?

While you may work in partnership or in teams, if funded, award payments will only be made to one applicant organization/individual with whom an award agreement will be signed. This applicant will be programmatically and fiscally responsible for the award.

Can we submit more than one application?

You can submit multiple applications, however you should be aware that it is highly unlikely that we will give more than one award to any one applicant.

I am from a larger institution with many departments. Will you accept only one submission from the entire institution, or will you accept multiple submissions from a larger entity if they are separated by unit/department/college/etc.?

You can submit multiple applications, however you should be aware that it is highly unlikely that we will give more than one award to any one applicant, including larger institutions.

Troubleshooting Fluxx

Can I submit my application in any language besides English?

Unfortunately, no. All registrations and submissions must be in English.

Can I edit or save my Letter of Intent (LOI) or Full Application?

For the Letter of Intent: You will not be able to save and return to the Letter of Intent. We recommend that you draft your responses on a separate document and paste them into the application form when you are ready to submit.

For the Full Application: Yes, but the information you submit will not auto-save. Therefore, always save your draft using the ‘Save’ button at the top before returning to the main page or exiting Fluxx. This ensures that you can return to continue editing. Only click the Submit button when the page is complete. Once you click submit, you will no longer be able to edit.

All submissions are final upon upload to Mozilla’s Fluxx portal.

Can I submit my LOI or Full Application on a mobile device?

Fluxx is not mobile friendly. Plan to complete your application using a laptop or desktop computer.
