DJI Mavic Mini

Fecha de la reseña 02/11/2020

About the size of a smartphone, this little drone will capture your HD video while using GPS to hover over you as you skateboard, walk on the beach, or walk your dog. It's got 30 minutes of maximum flight time, so make sure you keep those walks short. Get yourself a good sized microSD card so you save all those videos you created with this flying drone. And please don't fly your new drone over places you shouldn't, like airports, wildfires, and your neighbor's bedroom window.

Qué podría pasar si algo falla

China-based DJI has a history of not being good when it comes to privacy and security. Researchers recently warned there are vulnerabilities in the Android app that controls some DJI consumer drones that allows for the collection of large amounts of personal data. The leaked data, they warned, could then be exploited by the Chinese government. DJI drones have also been easily hacked in the past. In 2017, the US Military even issued a ban on using this company's drones for military purposes. Owning an insecure flying camera could present some problems for civilians too, so buyer beware. Having the personal information on your phone leaking to unknown sources who might exploit it, yeah, that's a really bad thing!

World’s largest commercial drone maker DJI leaking user data to China, claim researchers
Financial Express
Drone powering app leaking user data to Beijing, find researchers! Cybersecurity researchers on Thursday reported that there were vulnerabilities in an app which controlled one of the most popular drones meant for consumers. In two separate reports, the researchers revealed that an app powering drones manufactured by China-based Da Jiang Innovations or DJI which is available on the Google Android operating system, is collecting a large amount of personal data. This data, they said, could be exploited by the Chinese government
The US government grounded DJI — but here are the five drones it just approved
Sean Hollister
DJI may be synonymous with “drone,” but after the US Armed Forces, the Pentagon, and the Department of the Interior started banning and grounding Chinese models over spying fears, it created a vacuum in the market for a drone the United States government could trust.
