Athena Safety Wearable
|
We live in a world where women aren't safe. Women fear violence too often walking home, going for a jog, heading out on a date, living. This little wearable is a direct result of the unfortunate world women live in. Put this tiny, little low-energy Bluetooth device on while you are out and if you feel unsafe you can push the button to send an alert to a group of pre-selected contacts. Or push the button longer to let out an audible alarm to let people around you know you are in trouble. The app can share your location with your selected contacts. A good idea, and a sad world that we need this.
What could happen if something goes wrong?
They have done a seemingly good job of building privacy into this device. Just be careful who you include in your emergency contacts with access to your status. Someone with bad intentions could flip the safety ideals behind this product on their head.
