Shares your information with 3rd parties for unexpected reasons
Nearly every company collects some kind of information on its users. That’s how the internet works. It’s how they use and care for this information that matters. You should know whether a company shares or sells your personal information to others and for what reasons. For the purpose of this report Mozilla determined that if according to a company’s privacy policy, it appeared to share data with third parties that could then use that information to market or advertise to customers, then we labeled it as “Shares information with third parties for unexpected reasons.” This does not mean your information is definitely used for these purposes. Simply that the policy leaves the possibility open your information could be used in this way.

What could happen if something went wrong

The app for the toy accesses the microphone on your phone or tablet, so if hacked, there’s the potential someone could listen in to your child using the app. We did receive this statement from the company: "The robot's microphones are very crude and only capable of determining that they hear a voice-like sound. And that is when they turn towards the sound. There's no facility for recording audio via the robot, and although audio can be recorded at the app and then transferred to the robot, there is no mechanism for retrieving that audio digitally either via Bluetooth or any other mechanism short of an extremely skilled engineer physically taking the robot apart. The audio recorded in the app is not stored on the app's device and is not transmitted to the cloud; it is only transferred to the robot via Bluetooth so it's all local."
