For those who might be unaware, the Instant Pot pressure cooker has a cult-like following by cooks all around the world. People loooove these pressure cooker, rice cooker, yogurt maker, cake maker, multi-tasking meal-making beasts. And now there is one with built-in WiFi that lets you make the yogurt or cheese cake or pot roast from anywhere around the world (kinda, someone still has to actually put the ingredients in the pot). Plop in those beans and then go monitor how they are cooking from the bathtub. Soon you'll find yourself in the Cult of Instant Pot too.
What could happen if something goes wrong?
The folks at Instant Pot didn't respond to our privacy and security questions so we were unable to tell if they have a program in place to catch and fix security vulnerabilities. Otherwise, they seem to do a decent job with security and privacy. Which is good because it would be awful to have your Instant Pot hacked and have that pot roast you were making for dinner ruined.
