At Mozilla we spend a lot of time thinking about data. How it’s collected. Why it’s collected. Who has access to it. And how you can protect yours.

We know one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to how data is managed and shared. That’s why Mozilla’s Insights team is working on a global research project about data futures and data stewardship. We are interested in innovative models that give people agency over their own data, and that benefit the public—be it as individuals, specific communities or society more broadly.

Maybe it’s a data coop, commons or trust? Perhaps a personal data storage solution or something completely different. It could be a product or a startup, a governance structure or terms of service. As long as it differs from the standard corporate model, we want to hear about it.

If you know of a project we should include in our database, in any language, please fill out this (brief!) form online (also available in Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Ukrainian or Russian).
